To give our laptop a bit different look, we often use fancy stickers and paste them on our laptops. Placing fancy stickers on your laptop is very common doing among young people because they always find ways and methods to make their things look cooler.
But what if suddenly you have to sell your laptop? A device covered with stickers will not give a look like an original one. It would look a bit old.
So, in order to prevent situations like that what you can do is to remove the stickers from your laptop. But while removing stickers you need to be careful because you have to remove them in such a way that they do not affect the appearance of your laptop.
Now, let’s move towards our guide where we will teach you about the best and possible methods to remove stickers from your laptop.
4 Ways You Should Know About It
1. Use Your Nail or a Sharp Blade
If you have recently applied the sticker on your laptop then you can easily remove it just by using your nails.
But for this purpose, firstly you have to figure out which side you should start to take off your sticker.
Find out the loose edge and scratch your nail against it so that the sticker doesn’t tear apart in the middle of the process. If the sticker tears apart then it might become very difficult to remove it and your device might get affected as well.
But if you find it hard to remove the sticker from your nail, then you can scratch it off by using a sharp blade. I would recommend you to use your nail because while using a sharp blade there are chances that it might damage the surface of your laptop, leaving unpleasant scratches on the surface. So, that will definitely affect the price of your laptop.
2. Use Blower to Take Off the Sticker
If the sticker on your laptop is older than a year, or more than that then taking it off through your nail is not the ultimate solution for you. There are some other steps that you have to follow in order to remove the sticker completely.
All of these steps that I will be mentioning are quite easy to follow, and just by following these, you will be able to remove your laptop stickers in no time.
Another easiest method is to use a blower to remove stickers from your laptop. The adhesive used by stickers to stick to the surfaces gets dry as time passes and due to this drying process, it gets more durable and long lasting, which makes it difficult to remove. So to make it less durable and weak, you have to break the bond by melting the adhesive.
For this purpose, you can use a blower because it spreads hot air on the surface of the sticker making it extremely beneficial in melting the adhesives.
Sooner or later, when the glue starts melting, the sticker becomes less durable and weak, hence you can easily remove it from the surface of your laptop.
3. Use A Piece Of Cloth
If you are unable to avail the facility of a blower, you can still find an easy alternative. Here’s how,
You can simply use a damaged piece of cloth to lose the durability of the sticker. Take out your cloth and place it in water, compress it tightly to get rid of the dripping water.
After that use this piece of cloth and rub it on the surface of your sticker gently. Do this exercise for several minutes and then after some time, you will be able to peel the sticker from the surface easily.
4. By Using Coconut Oil or Olive Oil
The fourth method on our list is to use coconut oil or olive oil in order to remove the stickers from your laptop. These oils are expensive and hence this method can cost you a heavy amount but the results are quite good, indeed.
If these oils are available in your home then use them otherwise, check out the other methods mentioned above.
First of all, take a few drops of oil on your hand palm and then dip your finger in the oil. After that rub it on the sticker in a circular motion and then rub your finger politely.
How to Remove Stickers from Laptop for Reuse?
If you want to remove your stickers to re-paste them on your new device then there’s no need to worry about it. There are a lot of methods that you can follow to remove your stickers and use them again.
First of all, you have to find a soft corner of your sticker and then use your nail to start peeling it. Do the process slowly and make sure that the sticker doesn’t rip apart.
As I mentioned before, you can also use oils to remove the sticker. If you don’t have oils available at home then use vinegar. Vinegar will make the process easy for you. The solvents make the sticker’s surface smooth enough to get removed.
How to Get Sticker Residue off Laptop?
While removing the stickers from your laptop’s surface you may leave some residue behind. The mess looks like the dirt of pile. To get rid of this residue you can use a dishwasher.
Use your dishwasher and place it gently against the residue of the stickers. Rub it smoothly against the mess and then you will see the results soon.
The process does not end up here. In the next step take a mild solution of baking soda and add it among the leftover of your sticker. If you do not have baking soda then apply any sort of oil-based substance on the residues.
Why is that so? This will help you remove the stickiness of the sticker and you will be able to clear the mess off your laptop easily.
Should I remove the stickers from my Laptop?
Well, it completely depends on you if you want to remove the stickers or not. But as per my opinion, you should remove the stickers if in case you are worried about the adhesives or residues.
However, while working if your device gets heated then remove the stickers immediately because the glue will adhere to the computer and it will become quite difficult for you to remove them.
Will stickers ruin my laptop?
Stickers don’t provide any damage to the laptop. But if your system gets heated repeatedly then the adhesive will melt and it would be difficult for you.
Are Laptop Stickers unprofessional?
You can add stickers to your laptop as per your choice. But in some companies, consider adding stickers quite unprofessional.
So these were the most effective methods for removing a sticker from the surface of your laptop. But before applying these methods I want you to know a basic precaution that is, before applying any of these methods, make sure to turn off your laptop. Also, if possible then remove the battery of your laptop.
